Of Meows, Noms and Shinies

This is Loki.

He likes chin scratches and face pets.

He also likes to lay awkwardly.

This is his signature pose... flat on the ground with legs spread. Super attractive, eh? haha

I also made macarons.. 1 batch of batter, with three very different results. It's confusing.

First batch: (same batter)

um... the feet pooled out and the shells were super fragile

Perfection. Strange.

And at some point, I went on an earring binge!

Over the weekend, I made my first batch of lip balms.
I have yet to perfect the recipe-- but I'm giving out samples for you to try :)--- you will have a chance to give your input before the formula is finalized!


Tonight, I had the craving for potato chips... so I put my new mandolin to work and made some!

Origami Butterflies, Cinderella Charm, Bracelet and more

.... gasp! A post almost entirely dedicated to jewelry! It's been a while :) I have missed having time to sit down and create, but despite being busy, I am extremely happy and fulfilled with what I'm doing in the day.

I have been receiving many emails from soon-to-be-college-grads asking for work advice, etc-- and I'm happy to answer all/listen/give study advice, based off my personal experience. If you need help, please do not hesitate to ask! Sometimes it may take a while to get back to you, however, so if you don't hear from me in about a week, please send me a reminder email! :)

So... the jewelry first today. These were made over the last three days-- it's been a fun, creative, productive weekend.

First off, matching bracelet and earrings!
I know many of you have been asking for matching sets-- and I honestly have no idea why I don't do it more. But here's one set!

Also, I discovered something about these wings... I used to purchase these antique wings from a supplier in Canada, and my most recent batch was from a United States suppliers. They look relatively the same in photos, but the recent batch is SIGNIFICANTLY higher in quality. I've noticed this pattern with a few other components-- it seems that knock-off parts are everywhere now :\ Sad face. Especially with the rising cost of silver. However, rest assured. I'm out to find the best quality, highest value for everyone-- well, to the best of my ability.

The mini versions take significantly longer to make than the regular sized-- I'm happy in times like these I have small hands :)

Kitties, Food, Earrings~

Like the new layout? A little more stimulating :)

Anyway, I came home on Friday to this:

Oh, the joys of kittenhood....

I made some easy-peasy tiramisu for coworkers... too much whipped cream... and it pretty much melted by the time they were to eat it unfortunately... 

But still cute :D-- there are cocoa nibs on top!

Also, last but not least, here are some new earrings I've been working on, available for purchase on the website!

I vow to blog soon! My work is having a Breast Cancer Awareness baking fundraiser.. and guess who is going to be making goodies? :D I can't wait! .. speaking of Breast Cancer Awareness, YES-- He Qi will be making a contribution for all sales made in October-- will announce later!

Also, I plan to hold a giveaway soon-- it's been a while! What should I be giving away? Handmade goodies (jewelry, clay facials, mineral eyeshadows?) and beauty products... what about some baked goodies, too?

And aside from that, I have a recipe to post for you all real soon.. it's a recipe for a HEALTHY chocolate chip oatmeal cookie (yes, genuinely healthy) that tastes delicious. It's a recipe I received from a friend, and it's amazing.

Otherwise, I have made new earrings :) One of them is my new banner, and the other a black baroque earrings you'll see when you visit the site :)

Tomorrow some coworkers & I are going river rafting (not whitewater rafting)

New goodies + Life update!

I do apologize for my lack of posts-- I see more coming, since I'm officially DONE moving to my new apartment now, yay! And now begins the process of putting everything away :X

Brian and I are trying to get Kratos and Loki leash trained (it'll just make traveling and... pretty much everything easier) ... so here are a few photos from our adventure this morning :)



Loki got himself stuck in the bush. Dad had to help him out, while Kratos watched, lol.

All pouches are still "prototypes".... so they're going for much lower than regular :)
Pouches are generally pretty easy to start with for beginning sewing, I think. Once I have more expertise, I wil l start dabbling into other things :)

Okay so first.. I've never shown you a video of my kittens. I'm a little sad, because I should have filmed them more when they were both super tiny. They're almost 7 pounds now! Very heavy for being only 4.5 months old.


And I also made new pouches over the course of the last week:

keke, look at Kratos' glowy eyes. DEVIL CAT (jk jk) Yes, we (and by that, I mean mostly Brian..) built them steps to play on (shelves from IKEA). Heights build confident and social cats, and we are dedicated to making our kitties happy. And yes, they have big scratchers and all that jazz. More giant cat tress to come in the future, when Brian and I move in together and we have more room.
