Restock of MOP Dove Earrings! Plus new creations

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are having an awesome Sunday in the US.

First off..
After over a year of being out of stock, our Mother of Pearl Dove Earrings are FINALLY back! There are 3 pairs left before they are out of stock again.

I've had a lot of trouble securing these particular dove beads.  A local  bead shop had stocked them, but hadn't for a quite a while.  I had tried buying from online sources but the quality was really never up to par and those beads got tossed.

My overall obsession as of late has turned to wire wrapped rings. For the longest time I couldn't get a hang of getting them perfectly round, the wires in the right positions.  Lots of practice and wire later, I've grown to really love making rings.  Making each one has been therapeutic, and knowing that you all can custom your size makes me feel more connected to each of you.  Sounds a little lame but very true :)

The little knot ring is a surprisingly cute ring-- super versatile and really, can be worn every day.

Our new little gold heart ring is... simply adorable.
I'm falling in love with minimalist jewelry.
Sometimes, the smallest pieces may have a surprisingly large impact.

Also found cute little shooting star motifs and turned them into a one of a kind pair of earrings:

See the Shooting Star Earrings HERE.

Hope everyone has a beautiful rest of the day and in the week to come. I have major spring cleaning coming due for the site-- reorganization is in the works!

Happy 2012! Look back in Photos and Future Goals :)

I am a bit over due-- HAPPY 2012, everyone!
I hope the new year has started out positively for everyone.

2011 was a turning point in my life.

He Qi Crystal designs grew with all of your love and support.

I developed an continued to foster my obsession with Macarons.

I made beauty products-- what the heck!

... the beauty products created opportunity for you and I to donate to Japan's Tsunami disaster:

Completed Senior Design project -- I am so proud of our team.

Honorable mention for best senior design whaaaaaaaaaa?

Played with Poppin' Cooking or whatever. Lesson learned: cute food, nasty taste.

I rode the feather trend:

Hoarded Matcha Kit Kats.

Adopted two of the most cutest kittens evaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr.

Met the amazing. Sam.

VISIT HER NOWWWWWWWW.  http://www.youtube.com/user/saaammage
DID I MENTION SHE IS A HE QI MODEL?!!?!!?

I graduated college.

Grueling times. Fun times, amazing times with amazing people.

Celebrated by making a trip to Vegas... and eating everything in site.

EAT ALL THE CUTE THINGS!

I baked and made food.

I GOT A FULL TIME JOB. I can't say where though :P

... but with that first "real" paycheck, I bought a sewing machine.
.. and made pouches.

Also, I cooked and baked some more.

... and started to make higher-end earrings with my newfound source of stable ish income.

And inbetween I would bake..

And come home to madness:

Fail miserably at making macarons:

But succeed at rum cake:

Did the most intense couple of days of baking -- during work, we had a fundraiser for Breast Cancer awareness month..

The last few weeks of 2011 were nuts.

The bf and I moved out of our tiny 1 bedroom into a large 4bedroom house and back in with our college roomie and his gf..

Here are some shots of our GREEN (but not barf or gross green..) house!

From upstairs:

The giant cat tree you're seeing is Kratos and Loki's Christmas present. Best $130 ever spent, not even kidding. We have three cats in the house now-- they better be happy there!

We have a fire place, it is amazing. Achilles agrees.

The kitchen is spacious and the appliances are lovely. Lots of opportunities to cook and  bake in this kitchen.

And of course, I've been baking some more.

If I could ship everything I bake, everyone would be getting baked goods in their packages. Probably not a good idea though... :(

The last couple of days, I have been working on incorporating gemstones into my collection:

QUARTZ!

I made of REMIX of Jen's feather earrings:

Some Valentine Earrings:

(OMG! I am ON TIME with the Holidays this time! AMAZING.)

And some typical He Qi Spring Earrings:

I am super proud of 2011. It was an absolutely amazing year all around. I grew so much it is actually overwhelming when I think about it.

In 2012--
- I am super duper stoked to go to Japan in March!!!!
- I am SUPER DUPER EXCITED to learn more at work and prove my value
- I am going to further grow He Qi
- I am going to vow to eat healthier and live a healthier lifestyle now that I'm busier than ever :X
- I am going to KEEP IN TOUCH with my blog girls. I love you guys and I've missed interacting with all of you so much in the last 6 months of transition to real life.
- I am going bake and cook as much as time allows
Simple goals :) ... but I can honestly go on and on. There is so much I want to do-- but so little time to do it all + stay sane.

SO. What are some things you are REALLY excited about this year? What can do you to make positive changes in your life? Let me know in the comments! I PROMISE that if you leave a comment today, I will DEFINITELY get back to your on your blog!

Happy 2012!

love,
Lisa

Praise for Seche Vite, 2 OOAK Earrings

I've been browsing a lot of nail blogs lately and catch myself wondering how long it takes for these gals to create beautiful manicures, and how they manage to make it look so darn perfect, without a single smudge or scratch!

When I do my nails, I can never sit long enough for my nails to completely dry before the urge to do things overwhelms me, I end up typing, writing, or making jewelry, and alas, a nail becomes smeared.
I was watching Jen's basic nail polish tutorial, and noticed for the first time that she used the Seche Vite top coat. Yea, I've tried top coats before, and I didn't realize how DIFFERENT they can be. I used to use AVON's uhh something about freeze dry thingy that was supposed to help the polish dry faster, glossy & smooth.  .... It sucked. Still took at least 5 minutes before the nails were touchable without smudging :\ I picked up a bottle of Seche Vite from CVS when it was on sale for aprox. $8, with free nail stickers (haha). Just when I thought I'd given up on topcoats, I decided to give this one a go.

** This is a random note, but I've been a nail-biter all my life. The only time I DON'T chew on my nails is when I have polish on. In an effort to make my nails longer and more beautiful, I have decided to invest in beautiful polishes and top coats so I will eventually (ideally, hopefully) be able to give myself amazingly cute manicures ;)

One word for Seche Vite: Genius.
WHY did I not use this before?!
I LOVE THIS TOP COAT. It actually makes the polish dry SUPER fast, and by super fast, I mean, within a minute or so, you can touch your nails. Within 5 minutes, it's DONE.
The formula doesn't smell very nasty, is quite THIICK, and goes on beautifully. I like putting it on my entire nail, and let it kinda of seep onto my skin-- I can then easily it peel/pick it off, along with any other imperfect nail polish that got on my skin. It leaves your polish looking AMAZINGLY glossy-- I'm constantly rubbing my nails because I love that feeling.

The final verdict:
Would I buy this over, and over again? Heck yes. I think every single nail-painter has got to have this. Saves you tons of time/frustration-- plus, you get beautiful results. I am finally inspired to paint my nails all the time.
GO BUY THIS. I might even buy a bottle to give away soon, because I like it so much ;)

BTW, Seche has a whole line of nail stuff- not just top coats. Base coats, fillers, etc. I can't wait to check the rest of the line out!

If you've tried other products from Seche, let me know what you think! If you also have the Seche Vite top coat, how do you personally like it?

Okay, so I made 2 pairs of OOAK earrings last night.
OOAK = One of a kind. This means there is only ONE pair of such a design ... EVER. You're guaranteed a unique piece. Some of the components for these designs are either hard to find, or come from swaps with fellow jewelry artisans.

Enjoy!

^ I really love these, and am seriously contemplating keeping these for myself :X
If no one claims them within a week, I think I'll keep em. They're very long, dangly, beautiful, obscenely cute.

^ These are girly, quite magical. Perfect for your inner-faerie.

See the new earrings HERE.

How should I hold my Facebook giveaway? Make a post on there? Get you gals to model He Qi Jewelry and see who gets the most likes? Suggestions much needed!
