New Creations, Japan donations Update ;)

ITS SPRING BREAK!
Finals went well this quarter, so I'm in an extremely good mood :)

On top of that... He Qi Crystal Designs was able to make a 10,000 Yen donation to the Japanese Red cross last wednesday (Aprox. $125 USD)-- BECAUSE OF AWESOME PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

I estimate that by next week, we will be able to donate another 10,000 Yen! YES!

I also spent the entire day working on orders-- and managed to pull of my most efficient day ever before I take a 5-day break to visit family and other loved ones. So for the next five days, I will NOT be mailing orders out, but you are more than welcome to continue placing orders so that when I get back to work, your order will be done in the order which I received them.

The popular ROCKSTAR ANGEL cuff set is back-- I changed the studs to round instead of Marquise, because these will be easier to get a hold of in the future, as I plan to keep this item as a permanent part of the He Qi collection :)

Also, I was able to add two more cuffs to the website today :)

Now the following pair is for fun... for those of you who know of the NARUTO anime, you'll know exactly where the inspiration came from;

A simple pair of earrings:

Eiffel Tower earrings, very cute:

A fancier pair of earrings:

And quite a fancy necklace, asymmetrical:

Spring is here, yet it's so rainy! That was a quick update before I go MIA for break!!
Hope you all have a wonderful week. I'll still have email and  my phone, so feel free to contact me with questions and custom orders!

love,
Lisa

Washi Chiyogami Columns Debut!

I had been saving these to debut in April, but now seems a suitable time, especially considering the influence of these pieces...

I had this beautiful Washi Chiyogami paper imported from Japan, and had been making Origami Butterfly jewelry with them. I thought that these paper would make beautiful columns, so just went forth with the idea without really knowing how it'll turn out.

For those of you who like larger earrings, these are for you! However, they're still extremely light. Please treat them with care-- even though they've been double coated with semi-gloss sealant, it's still important that they're kept away from moisture.

Enjoy:

Approximate size when worn:

Remember, 15% of net proceeds will be donated to help victims in Japan-- if you have a special charity in mind which you believe I should donate funds to, please drop me a line here. Currently, I'm looking into either:
Direct Relief International
Japanese Red Cross -- whichever will get the funds there faster, at this point, probably the JRC!

As much as I'd love to donate more, I also need to pay rent, the bills and eat. If I have any extra profit this month, YES it will be donated as well.

For those of you who have family/friends in Japan, I hope you have all been able to obtain news of your loved ones <3
Meanwhile, if you can not personally donate directly or indirectly, please at the very least, support others who are trying to raise awareness, for example, by watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cciUXpITsu0

Okay all, I have spent the last couple of days completely distracted. It's time for me to get back on track with my studies, and get my finals over with -- I have TWO this quarter, one tomorrow, one Saturday. If I reply to questions a little slower, it's probably because I've locked myself away to study.

Talk to you all soon, and remember, spread the word about donations-- we owe it to each other as fellow human citizens.

Pray for Japan Fundraiser: You can make a difference.

All of you by now have probably heard of the recent natural disaster which struck Japan.
When it happened Thursday night, I was up browsing the internet. I went on live stream to watch what was happening in Japan, and found myself utterly speechless. How often does something of this magnitude affect our people?

I have done some research, and decided that it is time again for all of you, along with He Qi Crystal Designs, to try and make a difference.

I ransacked my brain this weekend, and thought about what Japan meant to me. Now, I'm not Japanese, but I have a fondness for their culture. A lot of the inspiration for my work comes from Japanese culture, including the use of "kawaii" styles, cherry blossoms, anime,  maccha (huge in my life, as silly and unimportant as that sounds..). Japan has had a huge influence on me, and now, more than ever, I need to give back.

I've put together a "Pray for Japan" beauty gift set. It includes:
- 2 eye shadows, perfect for an everyday, natural look. suitable for all skin tones
* Cherry Blossom: shimmery light pink, 5 gram jar
Made with: 100% natural mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, magnesium stearate
* Sakura Branch: shimmery brown, 5 gram jar
Made with: 100% natural mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, magnesium stearate
- 1 pcs. Maccha Lemon handmade soap 1.5 oz bar
Made with: Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Water, Coconut Oil, Sodium Stearate, Sorbitol, Shea Butter,       Titanium Dioxide, Maccha Powder, Lemon Essential Oil
+ 1 dual-end eyeshadow brush

Here's how you can help:
Purchase a "Pray for Japan" beauty set HERE.
75% of proceeds will be donated to Direct Relief.
Direct Relief was the charity I chose, above all others, to donate to because 99% of the donations go directly to the cause, since the administrative costs are one of the LOWEST I've seen of any charity (less than 1% of your donation will go towards administrative costs).

Help spread the word. Once these 15 sets are sold out, I will make more, depending on the response from you guys.
Also, I will be donating 15% of all purchases (aside from this special gift set), to Direct Relief as well. Let your friends and family know.

By myself, I may not be able to give much, but with everyone's help, we can make a huge difference. Make a purchase today: www.shopheqi.com
Also, if you are able to make a DIRECT donation, that would be even better! Check out Direct Relief for details!

And major props to the Japanese government for having one of the strictest building policies in the world-- because of the safety of the infrastructure, many buildings were able to withstand the shakes. If it had been somewhere else in the world, the damage would have been far worse.

I hope that all of you who have family and friends in Japan have been able to get in contact (I know it's been hard). My thoughts are with you.

love,
Lisa
